So, want to learn more about Cashel linen?

—All Cashel Linen is 28 count.  Zweigart, the manufacturer, gives all of their linen fabrics a different name according to the stitch count of the fabric.  Belfast Linen is always 32 count, 40 count is always Newcastle, 25ct linen is always called Dublin linen (when referring to Zweigart’s linens)

—Visit our Color Swatches page to see the wide range of colors that Cashel can be purchased in.

—Fiber content is 100% pure linen.

—Cashel linen, like other linens,  can be hand dyed to create more unique colors.

—When looking at a design size, the final project size would be the same as if it were stitched on 14 count aida.  This is because most cross stitchers stitch “over 2″ on linen fabrics, so the stitcher would cross over 2 threads when making an “x”.

—When planning a cross stitch project, to figure the size of linen that would be needed, follow this guideline:   Divide each number of the stitch count (example 70×140) by 14 (remember, we’re going over 2 threads to make 14 X stitches per inch).  So, 70 divided by 14 =5, and 140 divided by 14 = 10.  The finished design size would be 5″ x 10″.  Be sure to add an extra 6-8 inches to each measurement to leave margins for framing, so the recommended size fabric for the project would be about 11″ x 18″.
